Inside/Outside Letter Writing (Prison Letter Writing Project)

May 9 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

Join the Abolitionist Law Center, Human Rights Coalition & Philadelphia Muslim Freedom Fund for the launch of in-person letter writing to incarcerated people in Pennsylvania!

Thursday, 5/9 from 6-8PM

Writers Room at Drexel, 3rd Floor

229 N 34th St

Philadelphia Every day, more than 36,000 men and women are housed in one of 24 prisons in PA. Currently and formerly incarcerated survivors have stated again and again how important letters of support are to their well-being.  Letters are also important strategies to build relationships, organizing across prison walls and have been critical to social movements everywhere.

Join us in responding to letters from people on the inside who are facing grave human rights abuses and seeking support. There will also be an opportunity to sign up to be a long-term correspondent to folks who are surviving solitary confinement. Solidarity with prisoners now!

Space is wheelchair accessible. Light snacks & drinks will be provided.

Questions? Email Sam at sam@alcenter.org.
